Princess halo

I know. I should go in again. he is in NYC though and I'm out on Long Island with 3 young kids. I am going to have to call him though. He has not responded to my text. I was afraid my words wouldn't come out right on the phone or that he would get nasty ..I took the easier way out but obviously it didn't work. Ha ha

^By sending him a text, you may have given him the impression that you feel that your issue is not important enough to speak in person (or at the very least, by phone). As a mom of young kids, I know how difficult it can be to plan stuff like this, but if you really want to resolve your situation, your going to have to put into some effort. Maybe call him and then try to set up a meeting that's convenient with your schedule? Also, I would't let him know that another jeweler called his work a "hack job" - he's likely to get defensive.

I heard back from my jeweler and he said that all he needs to do is lower the center stone to reduce the visibility of the gap. He said I asked for it to be high which I don't recall but I will definitely try this. Ha ha I have a feeling it won't be perfect still but closer and it is already so pretty :-) thanks everyone!!

Hi Misskann2c - I'm sorry your ring hasn't completely met your expectations. I know how disappointing this can be. I have a question for you before you take the ring to the jeweller to have him work on it. I was looking at your 3rd picture showing the halo from the side. You mentioned it has diamonds on the side of the halo. I enlarged the picture on my iPad because I wasn't sure what I was seeing - a gap, shadow, a missing diamond or it could be as simple as a the angle of the ring while you took your photo making it look this way to me. I really can't tell but have a close look and if you see anything that doesn't look right be sure to bring this to his attention. FYI - it looks lovely on your hand.

Oh that's definitely just the picture! I didn't even notice that! Thanks though! I did call jeweler and leave a message because as mentioned, I do need to speak to him before he works on it again. I do not believe that simply lowering the center stone will fix the problem- I was waiting for my daughter at dance class and ran in to the jewelry store next door to get a third opinion.. And was told yet again that this is because the halo needs to be custom to the stone. He also pointed out the cracked prong but was much more professional than the last guy and didn't say much else. anyway so my thought is that my jeweler just doesn't understand or know exactly how to do what I asked. I want to give him the benefit f the doubt but have to admit I was discouraged that he sent me a ring with a broken prong!! However I don't think he is going to tell me to go elsewhere so I will let him lower it and fingers crossed it helps a little and doesn't make the gap even more obvious. That's the best I'm going to get. Just stinks to know you paid for something custom that looks lke a generic stock item
