Princess GIA EX/EX versus AGS Ideal 0

Hey everyone,

I''m shopping for a nice, princess cut diamond for an engagement ring. My question is regarding GIA versus AGS:

Would you recommend a AGS Ideal 0 diamond or a GIA diamond with Excellent/Excellent symmetry and polish? You can assume the same price and all of the other specs are the same and the depth and table are quite good (~73/70).

As a follow-up, how much more % would you be willing to spend for one or the other?

Sight unseen I would go for the AGS0.
If they were physically in front of me I would use my own eyes (in multiple lighting situations).
If they were sight unseen to me, but physically in front of someone I trusted (Wink, Jon, Garry, Richard Sherwood, Dave Atlas, Neil Beatty, etc), then I would be use the trusted eyes as my surrogate.

AGS hands down. I had a GIA triple excellent round that I had recut because it was very steep and deep. I know it''s not the same as a princess, but the AGS''s cut grading is WAAAAY more reliable.

Thanks!! It is too bad so few diamonds are AGS certified, especially for fancy cut diamonds like Princess where GIA is lacking.

Not so...several hundred AGS0 graded Princess stones out there.
