Here is what I am looking at and I want to get some feedback to make sure it is a good deal.

Princess Cut
.90 carat
H color
SI1
5.36x5.28x3.76
Polish: excellent
symmetry: Good
Fluorescene: None
70% table
71.2% depth
Thick - Very thick girdle (is this bad?)
GIA certified
$3,390

There is an inclusion on the corner of the stone (on the girdle). Will this cause a probelm when setting?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Martin

Hi and welcome! You do not have a lot of information to go on and princess cuts can be hard to judge just by the numbers. I do prefer a thicker girdle on princess cuts because they can be easy to chip. As far as value goes you can click on Prices at the top of the page and do a search to see what similiar stones are selling for with online vendors. I would ask whoever you are buying from about the effect of the inclusion on setting the stone.

I am happy to help you with some information on Princess cuts.
1. The inclusion under the corner will be a concern. The corners of princess cuts are very pointed and thin. The heat and pressure required to set a prong over this area can weaken and potential chip off the corner.

2. The table and depth are within good cut ranges for a princess. The ranges are: Table 60-78%, and Depth 60-78%.

3. The very thick girdle is not so great. When you have a very thick to extremely thick girdle the diamond weight is held in this area, instead of spread (which is where it looks is biggest).

You may want to look around a little more. The diamond is priced good, but that is because of the proportions you mentioned. It''s cheaper because of its potential problems.
