I've been working with one of the vendors in my area and I just received some reports and needed help. I'm not an expert on the reports but does it look like there is too much light leakage which shows up as green? Is there one report that is better than another? Also it looks like there is an inclusion on the table that is visible. I think the vendor said it was either a VS1 or VS2. I didn't write it down so I forgot.

Overall, the light return is very good for a princess. I don't think there's too much leakage at all; however, there's something I don't love about the contrast pattern. There is asymmetric leakage under the table that my eye is drawn to immediately (it's dark in the photo as well as black in the ASET and white in the IS). That said, it's so difficult to find ideal princesses in this size range, so I think you might have to overlook that aspect and stick with it. I'd be more nitpicky if it were 1ct instead of 3ct. But overall it's a well-cut princess and a very nice choice.

As for the inclusion, it will almost never be eye-visible in a VS1 and very likely not be eye-visible in a VS2. Ask the vendor if the diamond is eye-clean to your standards.

jstarfireb - thank you for your input. I totally agree with your opinion about the asymmetrical light leakage in the table. My eye is drawn straight to it too. I am going to see the diamond in person tomorrow. Hopefully they will have other pc diamonds for me to look at.

Good luck!

I've seen better asets and I've seen worse. Cutting usually gets worse when you go up dramatically in sizes so for a 3ct I'd say that was pretty good.

Be interesting to hear your thoughts when you see it in person. Take some pictures to share with us if you can.

Well I went to see the diamond. It was beautiful but it did not fit the setting that I already have. Unfortunately I had a bad buying experiencing with a diamond wholesaler in town and returned the diamond. I had the halo setting custom made so according to them I could not return it. The vendor said that it would be pretty hard to find an ideal cut princess in that exact size. So now, I will be looking for a RB!! I will probably just have a saphire set in the ring. Ugh! Sorry I forgot to even snap a pic of the pcd.
