The GIA Cert with the image of the diamond

I sent the specs to the jeweler where I am getting the setting, and she comes back with an email and said this sucks. I am hoping she''s just saying that to get me to buy a diamond from them, please advice. I was using this chart I got here http://diamonds.pricescope.com/fnc1.asp to decide...

It sucks because it is too off square to be consider a square princess cut and not rectangular enough to be a rectangular princess cut.

It is off square at 1.07 l/w ratio which is not considered by a lot of people to be desirable in a princess cut.
The good symmetry also needs to checked out.
While I would not say it sucks with so little information I would say it just based on the limited information it would never be considered top end.
Where exactly it falls would require an ASET image and a regular picture at a min.

Oh. So she wasn''t just trying to make a sale huh.

From the pricescope table I was just checking out the depth/table/etc percentages.

What effect does the neither square nor rectangular dimensions have?

Thanks in advance.

Depends on how well cut it is, might not be that bad. Not way to tell without an ASET.

Off square will have problem with certain kinds of setting, since she is doing your setting, that may be why she is saying it sucks.

I am getting it from Bluenile... so I guess to be better safe than sorry, I''m looking at this now:

Price: $5,100
Price per carat:$5,100
Carat weight:1.00
Cut:Very Good
Color:D
Clarity:VS1
Depth %:73.9%
Table %:72%
Symmetry:Very Good
Polish:Excellent
Girdle:Slightly Thick
Culet:None
Fluorescence:None
Measurements:5.45 x 5.36 x 3.96 mm
Length/width ratio:1.02

Better than the other one besides being 0.09 carat less.

What about the one in the post above? Comments?

As said before, we cannot judge a stone''s performance by just the numbers from a grading report, we will need to see an ASET image and BN will not be able to provide it.

Hi raionz

No way to tell without an ASET image and detailed photos unfortunately but BN do not offer such services.
