First of all, thank you all for providing a wonderful site to learn about diamonds. It is very intimidating to start looking. Walking into a jewelry store uneducated feels about the same as a used car dealership...just waiting for the jewelers to ask if I want the rustproofing and undercoating....
Anyway, have been looking for a princess cut, in the range of 1.5c, and have found a few stones that I like on here. One question that I haven''t seen addressed, is how much should you tolerate the stone deviating from a square? For example, three of the diamonds I am looking at (for the sake of arguement, they are otherwise identical) have sizes of :
6.85x 5.76x 4.34
6.85x6.34x4.27
6.49x6.32x4.70
The first one for me is out, because I think the difference would surely be noticable. What about the other two? What, if there is any, is a good guideline for length/width desparity? Or is this just one of the many other things that you take into consideration when buying?
Thanks for the help...
