I have been reading the forum for the last few house, very informative.

Would it be useful it I had a sarin report and the crown height in deciding between the two stones or whether I should look at WhiteStrips or GoodOldGold?

Please help me someone I haven''t a clue what to pick and I''m tying to surprise my girlfriend

I would look for an Ideal cut diamond. While "very good" cuts are by no means bad, Ideal''s are the way to go with princess cut diamonds. If you want to keep in that $10,000 - $11,000 price range, I would bump the clarity down to SI1, 98% of SI1 diamonds are eye-clean and you will never see the flaws in them.

Again, all of this is striclty my opinion, but I did just recently buy a 1.56 Ideal Princess cut, G color, SI1 clarity and it sparkles like crazy. I went to a few jewlery stores with it and everyone made a comment about the brillance of the diamond.

IDEAL cut is the way to go my friend with princess cuts!

Thanks for the advise
What are the criteria for an ideal cut. There doesn''t seem to be an option on Blue Nile. Is it the same as the Signature Ideal cut?
