Hi again everyone

I''m on a really tight budget but these guys below will fit my budget. Do any of them look good to you? And -- to help me understand -- could you tell me what''s wrong with these if anything?

0.90 H SI1 71.8% 75% EGL med p no vg gd no 5.24x5.22x3.75
Price: $2374
0.90 H SI1 72.7% 69% EGL med p no vg vg no 5.21x5.17x3.76
Price: $2379
0.91 F VS2 67% 79% EGL stk- no vg gd no 5.60x5.43x3.64
Price: $2811

Also there seems to be a huge price difference between SI1 and SI2. Am I imagining that? Would SI2 on a white gold solitaire look bad.

Thanks,
ais

The 3rd one is very spready. Compare it's dimensions to the other two, which have a similar weight. I suspect it will have a flat, glassy look. Not worth that extra price unless you want something that looks big but isn't very sparkly.

Of the other two, assuming that the first number is depth and the 2nd is table, I guess I'd choose the 2nd because the table is smaller and the depth is greater than the table.

Make sure you have a good return policy, though, in case the grading is off and you have eye-visible inclusions.

Thanks, Hest.

Is that 3rd one bad because the table % is so big (79%)?

Despite all the reading i've been doing, simply looking at the numbers, still isn't allowing me to "visualize" the ring. Obviously I'm going to look at these before I buy them but I don't want to waste too much time.

Can I ask about another? What do you think about this one(for the price)...

Laboratory Certification: EGL
Shape: PR
Carats: 0.95
Color: H
Clarity: VS1
Depth: 63.60%
Table: 67.00%
Girdle: M
Culet:
Polish: VG
Symmetry: VG
Fluorescence: N
Dimensions: 5.72*5.66*3.60
Jewelryzone item number 1015706
Price Per Carat: 2817.50
Total Price: $2,676.00

Remember, EGL stones sell for less because they are considered to be less strict in their grading, so that H SI1 might have been an I SI2 if it had been sent to the GIA.

Here are some other stones for comparison (all with GIA certs):
0.92 G SI2 -- nice idealscope Ask about their Price Scope discount -- listed as $2788

0.90 H SI1 SuperbCert princess $3240

0.91 J VVS1 for $2600

0.96 F SI2 for $3400

I think that first stone I mentioned could be a great deal if the inclusions are ok. You can ask White Flash their opinion in an email.

Wow! Neat, Phoenix! Thanks so much. Those reports and scans are wonderful! I'll check with them on pricing/avail.

it raises an interesting topic for me (one that's been discussed a million times on this site). The dirtcheapdiamonds one is awesome except for the J color. Most people have said that, if it's cut well, this doesn't matter. Do you have an opinion? Anyone else? Because in all the postings, i'd never seen any examples. Maybe this would be a good one.

In fact, maybe I should rephrase the question. Is this diamond cut well enough that the J color wouldn't matter? maybe that's the question here.

0.91 J VVS1 for $2600

Thanks again,
ais

That stone has medium flourescence so it will appear whiter than the average "J", regardless of cut.
And yes- a great cut can mask color.
My princess is a "J" and I find it to be the most beautiful stone I've ever laid eyes on (it's a 1A cut). It faces up plenty white but I am not color-phobic and like my stones with a little "warmth" & extra "personality". Honestly, I'm not crazy about icy-white diamonds but many people believe they're the only way to go....
The best way to judge is to see it yourself, if possible?
Good luck, whatever you decide on
