I am looking for an AGS 0 Princess cut in the range of 1.75 to 1.90 carats with F to G color and VS1 to SI1 clarity. The good AGS 0''s in the 2 carat range are always $20,000 plus; however, I am trying spend less than this on the diamond given that I am planning to buy a pricey Michael B setting. There seems to be only a few AGS 0''s in this specific carat range - a couple can be found at Good Old Gold (Tim has been great, and I have been considering this one - http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/1773/). I have been told that a cutter does not want to cut a Princess to this 1.75 to 1.90 carat range. It was explained that it is a simple matter of economics - a rough diamond around this size can usually be cut to a 2.0 carat Princess or the cutter will use the rough to make a more profitable round brilliant. I am not in a big hurry, but I do not waste my time looking for a Princess in a carat size that rarely exists.

I would appreciate any insight or advice you could give me.

MANY THANKS!

Continue to do more of the same, letting vendors who typically stock these know what you''re looking for..including also WF, one of Paul''s Vendors, possibly Excel Diamonds/Superbcert. There''s one with Infinity now that could have been priced right if it was, as you say, G or F, but it''s E, and at $20K. Then again, not sure if there''s any possibility of it being eye clean at SI2 but this one is less than $12K.
