A close friend of mine has family in the Jewlery business
and through his family I''ve gotten a great deal on a princess cut diamond
and a significantly reduced price on the setting.
The thing is, is that after finding this website, I''ve come to feel
that perhaps the diamond isn''t so great and wonder whether or not I should proceed with the purchase.
The stats are as such:
GCIA Cert
depth: 68.2
table: 78
Color: G
Clarity: VS1
As I''ve said above, that now after doing some research through this site, I''ve realized that the table is outside the optimum range, but should this preclude me from buying it?
It seems to be a nice diamond and is perfectly square with a ratio of 1.01 to 1.00....but that table percentage seems to haunt me.
Does an ideal depth percentage help to offset an imperfect table percentage?
I don''t know, any opinions appreciated. In the end I feel that I might be forgoing a better diamond only because I''m getting a great deal, know the family and have comfort in using a B+M store.
But is that the right thing to do?
Damn table percentage....
as well, I don''t know the crown and pavilion angles...
do these matter significantly?
