Hi,
First post here. I just got upgraded this past Christmas. I recieved a 1.5 carat pricess cut diamond. It is beautiful. It is in a setting with 1 carat of diamonds. The only thing that my husband got with it was an appraisal for the insurance company. It shows a GIA scale for clarity and color. The clarity shows VS1 and the color is marked between H and I, but more towards the H. The carat weight shows 1.5 center 1.00 side. measurements are 6.55 MM 6.25MM and 4.55 MM deep. the proportions are depth % 72.8, table 78%. Girdle thickness is thn.thk( I assume this means from thin to thick.) and cutlet is none. This is all of the information othe than the description and the appraisal amount. I would really love to know the the cut quality. I have a set of princess cut earrings totalling 3.25 carats. Each earring is about the same weight as the center stone of my ring. The earrings are H SI2''s. I immediately saw a difference is the way the new ring sparkled compared to the earrings when I first got it. I also noticed that the very top of the diamonds were cut differently. I guess this would be the table. On the earrings, the table has more of a square cut while the on the ring, I notice that is has a rounded cut table. I was hoping that someone could give me an idea of what quality of cut the diamond in my new ring is. I did a search on bluenile for the depth and table %''s and the diamonds with those proportions all came back as a very good cut.
