Hi, just got a GIA certified princess cut for 7500 (including platinum setting) - good price? It was a little out of my price range, but the guy said it was a steal
G color,
VVS2,
1.50
carat,
square modified brilliant,
very good polish,
good symmetry,
no flouresence,
depth 74.6%,
table 75%,
girdle very thin to very thick

anybody? Just want to see if it was a good deal or I got ripped off?

Price seems good, just the cut may be of suspect, be careful you usually get what you pay for.

Hi mrx

Who is selling this diamond, is it a store jeweller and not online? I can see from the small amount of info that this diamond isn't cut to top standards, also the table is a tad larger than the depth, usually the reverse is preferred. Also watch the very thin girdle and get an impartial expert to check it if you want to buy it, although these aren't always a durability issue the possibility is there, so an appraiser's opinion on this would be valuable.

If you like the diamond, invest a little in an independant appraisal and get it in writing from this jeweller that you can return the diamond for any reason should you change your mind or it doesn't check out to your satisfaction with an appraisal.

appraiser listing.

this was from a smaller store . . . is it even considered "good" cut?

Did you check whether the actual purchase price was right for this diamond?
