Princess cut advice needed please

Hi all,

Very new to the this forum and the diamond world. It's been an interesting few weeks to say the least. Thank you for everyone's contributions and tips, they've been really helpful.

I'm in the market for a princess cut diamond, under 2 carats.

I've found one, which I do like, and it fits my criteria. As many have said on these forums, it's tough to make a call the cut quality of the princess cut stone, but that has been my priority.

Here were the things I was looking for:

Cut - excellent
Clarity - VS1 - SI1
Color - G - I
Carat - under 2

Please see a GCAL snapshot attached. That's the only thing I have to assess cut quality.

Here are the specs

1.86 carat I VS1
6.97 x 6.87 x 4.86 mm

Table 72
Depth 70.7
girdle - think - slightly thick

Polish Excellent
Symmetry Very good



Looking forward to feedback, and also documenting my experiences once I'm done with it all!

I'm a bit confused, you haven't posted any info on the stone? Is that literally all you have? No carat weight, colour, clarity, price? If its an SI1 is it eye clean? Photos? You'll need to post alot more info if you want any sort of opinion on it.

Thanks for the response, and for the links. Looking to spend from 11 to 14k, with 14 being somewhat of a stretch.

Have you seen it, or seen photos of it? Or are you buying blind?

I'd steer you towards one of the WF ones if you are buying blind with ONLY this info. If you've seen it (in store or something), then go with your eyes.
