Hi, I've never posted anything before and do not know how to go about asking so please forgive my stupidity!
Is $19,580 a good price for this particular diamond? Thank you very much in advance for your help!

Hi kehaulani,

I did a price search, and it looks like that exact stone is listed by JA and two other vendors. JA price is 18,500 (PS discount). with the other two just slightly higher. So yes, it's an ok price as far as that goes.

I would want an ASET on it and other pertinent info though, to see how well it is cut, because that's what makes for a sparkly stone.

Definitely request for a ASET image if you are interested.

Hi kehaulani,

Ellen,

It''s a small point, but the $18,500 is our credit card price. Wire transfer customers receive an additional 1.5% discount. I''m not sure if other vendors are displaying their cash or credit prices.

Ah, thanks for the heads up Jim!

Credit card price displayed for me too.

Yup, please ask for IS/ASETs (yay for JA for providing ASETs!). If you don''t feel comfortable posting the link because of lurkers, just put the photo up as well as the images, and we can help you decide.

I didn''t open the link. So just going by the main page, there''s only an asterisk, which simply denotes special price for PS''ers. That why I had no idea it was for a credit card purchase.

Ellen/Stone,

My bad - I should have been more clear.

The point I was trying to make is that historically some PS vendors display their cash price on the Pricescope search engine, while others display their credit card price. In our case, the price is for credit card and customers who opt to pay with wire will save a few extra bucks. In the case of some vendors, however, the price listed on PS already includes any wire discounts, so someone who wants to pay with a credit card will actually pay a bit more that what they see on PS.

As far as I''m aware their is no legend on the PS diamond database that states which price is being listed, nor any requirement that vendors list one or another. It might be helpful if this information was published, although not critical as wire discounts are relatively small and the price is only one of many factors customers are taking into account when they make their diamond purchase.

I haven''t seen one. Maybe sometime in the future we could incorporate that, would be helpful to everyone imo. Anyway, thanks again Jim.

Ok, I understand.

Since there isn't anything showing which it is, I think it would be best if everyone put their best price forward.
That way we can just say that the price is with all discounts and it makes it easier for those recommending diamonds.

Ok, ASET has been requested, will be posting as soon as I get it. Thanks again for your advice and opinions!!

Ok, I finally received a copy of the ASET image. ALL opinions appreciated! I currently have a .91 VS1 F square radiant and I''ve been very happy with it, especially the sparkle. This diamond would be a 10 year anniversary upgrade.
In your opinions, will I be getting a good amount of "sparkle" from this particular diamond??? Thanks for your help!!

In my opinion, i believe that this stone has an "OK" light return, but definitely not the best for the "sparkle" i think you are looking for. With an ASET, you want a diamond to be covered more with red than green. This picture has quite a bit more green than red i''d say.

Good luck

Better than the average princess, but not top quality. Especially for an upgrade, I think you can do better.

To the OP I'd keep looking...
