While guilt can only be legally determined in a court of law, in the court of WELL DUH! he just announced his guilt.
Bastard.

SNIP:

Prince Andrew, the disgraced second son of Queen Elizabeth II, has settled a lawsuit brought by Virginia Giuffre, a woman who had accused him of raping her when she was a teenage victim of Andrew’s friend, the notorious sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, according to a new court filing in Manhattan on Tuesday.

The amount that Andrew, 61, will pay Ms. Giuffre is confidential, the parties said in a joint statement attached to the filing.

Andrew also “intends to make a substantial donation” to a charity “in support of victims’ rights,” the statement says.

The deal comes just weeks before Andrew was scheduled to sit for a deposition, in which he would have been questioned under oath by Ms. Giuffre’s lawyers. Andrew did not admit to any of Ms. Giuffre’s accusations against him in the statement announcing the settlement.

Kenny mate, can you chance the thread title please
Prince Edward is the younger bro
he's a good fella as his his wife Sophie

i have no patience with Andrew
i feel sorry for them all being related to him
And i wish Virginia all the best in this settlement

I read it’s estimated at ~$12m.

I did the calculations that 24.5 million in my money (well not that i will ever have that much money)
I read (some?) is going to charity
too bad about the huge chink i imagine the lawyers will get

its certainly a quick turn around by Andrew, I'd say his siblings laid down the law to him
its not fare how his behaviour has been a black cloud over his mother's platinum jubilee

He should now move to somewhere like the British base in Antarctica and just disrepair for ever

D&D, thanks for catching my error. :))

...

FWIW below is another snip from the NYT article above, which states that this Mr. Boies is a lawyer for Ms. Giuffre.
This is a pleasant departure from the usual ...

"Mr. Boies said the entire amount of Ms. Giuffre’s settlement with Andrew, as well as any charitable contribution Andrew makes, will go to her and the charity, noting that his firm had represented her pro bono, without a fee."

Apparently he's still inline for the throne :-o - Only ninth thank goodness, but IMO this guy doesn't belong on a list of those to be anointed as God's leader of the C of E.

Can't he be throne :mrgreen:off the list?
Is that even possible?

No disrespect to victims of sexual abuse because its now clear to me he did something very wrong and emoral but i feel personally let down by what he did
when i was a younger teen he was the one we all wanted to marry and he was until a few weeks ago the boss of my army regiment and you know i never heard anything but good things from my fellow rank and file

It would take a tragedy much bigger than a few covid cases for him to get anywhere near the throne now as Charles has 5 grand children
But yes, perhaps he should relinquish his right in the list of succession
I do feel sorry for his two daughters who despite the example of both their parents, a few too many holidays, outlandish security costs,.a slip of a sword and some odd hats (ok i actually don't mind the way-out-there hats) have as they have matured, seemed to have grown into reasonable members of society their grandma can be proud of and i wish them both well

The Queen must feel so let down by her 2nd son
