Prices dropping?

I''ve been here only a few months, so my observation may be off base.

That being said, it seems that prices have dropped in just the last 4~8 weeks. Is this just the result of wholesale price drops finally hitting the retail channel?

I would swear that prices have dipped ~5% in just the last month....

Yes, I''ve seen that and my experience contradicts the chart.
The chart indicates rising prices and I''m seeing the opposite.

Which is why I asked if this is an example of price lag - where wholesale prices dropped a few months ago and it''s finally worked it''s way down the chain.

A totally non-pro observation:

When I bought my diamond early July, the same stone was listed on a certain very large online drop-shipping vendor''s inventory for a certain CC price. I am expecting the finished ring to ship this week

, but the stone is still listed on that inventory - for $24 less.

I''m waiting to see how long my stone (bought, paid for, soon to be on my finger!) lingers in the ''available'' inventory, though I''ll likely call them to tell them after I''ve had the appraisal done and it all checks out.

Price drop, anyone?
