Price of smaller diamonds?

Looking at a setting that has 14 princess diamonds set in the shank, with a TDW of .77. This works out as .055 carats each. Diamonds are advertised as D4. Wondering how much a diamond like that costs.... Just wondering how much of the actual price of the setting is the accent diamonds.

Is this a wedding band or an ering? Alot of the price is in the labor/ designer name not really the diamonds I believe. We would need more information to even guesstimate.

And I have never heard of D4 before.

This is a G&Co e-ring setting.

Gabriel and Co settings are usually pretty inexpensive and priced very competively for diamonds rings out there. I'm still not sure why you want to know how much the diamonds costs in the ring? Are you trying to have your jewelry recreate it for cheaper?

No, I'm just curious enough about things that if I was a cat I would have been dead long ago.

I have a setting picked out that I really like, it's fairly expensive in the metal I like, just wondering how much the diamonds are adding to the price, as there are a couple similar settings with lower TDWs that I haven't gotten a quote on.... If the diamonds aren't going to change the price much though, I won't bother thinking about compromising from what I want.

I don't think they should. By all means go get the pricing if you like another ring better. However, if this is the one that calls to you most I wouldn't worry about it. You are not taking a significant jump up or down in price with most Gabriel and Co settings., unless they are different metal or a much higher/ lower ctw overall.

I'm considering jumping down to 18K white gold from Platinum, that would save me $900. I'm worried that I will end up regretting it though.

Is the ering white gold or PLAT? Most people will advise you to not mix metals as they will eat away at each other over time. So stick with whatever metal the ering is.

For reference if you get white gold it will need to be redipped over time. For some that is every few months or years. It will start to look yellow-y. While PLAT will patina after a while and have a more greyish tone to it.

This is the e-ring we are talking about....

So then I would ask your GF what she perfers.

She knows its coming (eventually) but has no idea I am shopping, and I want to keep it that way. She told me a long time ago that she wanted platinum, but knew it was expensive.... so it didn't have to be. I like the look of platinum though.... and don't want to get a few years down the road and wish I would have spent the extra money.

Another question to ask in this is how much does maintenance cost?

What should I expect to pay to have a pt ring polished?
What should one expect to pay to have a gold ring replated?
To replate would they have to remove the diamonds? ( thus leading to more labor, and a greater chance of setting issues when it comes back?)
