This may be old news to everyone else, but I just found out that Nordstrom has a price matching policy! The only restrictions is that the price has to be for exactly the same item, brand new, and no auction sites. But the best part is that it does NOT have to be an authorized retailer!!
I have been ogling a Tag Heuer that''s currently retailing for $2,300. A few semi-shady online retailers have it for around $1,350-$1,600, but I was obviously concerned about ordering from a site that wasn''t reputable. Authorized retailers (Ben Bridge & the like) were all at $2,100 to $2,300. So I called up Nordstrom''s customer service and asked them to match the price of watchclick.com, and they sold me the watch for $1,350!!! So I get a brand new watch direct from the Tag factory, complete with the security of having ordered through Nordstrom, all for the rock-bottom internet price of $950 less than retail! I had to pay sales tax but with a discount that big, who really cares? Totally made my day.
Hope someone else finds this helpful! The woman did mention that they have a "designer" list for merchandise that they won''t match, but Tag wasn''t on there. I''m sure it''s so you can''t find a price on a knock-off Prada bag and then have them price-match it. However, since jewelry isn''t really their specialty and it''s probably not ripped off quite as much as something like handbags, it looks like their policy is pretty liberal.
