SSwar, welcome to the forum

You can buy diamond with similar numbers in the internet for $2500-$3000.

This stone has deep pavilion and a bit large table. It is also AGS class 4 and AGA class 3A. I.e this stone is far from ideal cut.

.

As you can see, there is very strong light leakage (white areas) under the table.

There is more reading for you here:

This simulation shows dark area under the table where diamond leaks light. This area doesn't return light back to your eye.

Try to close pavilion of the diamond and see whether you can spot it.

(not to be confused with Cut Adviser :)).

Once you'll open the file in GemAdviser run the Cut Quality analysis. It will rate the light return and light leakage for your stone. [/u][/u]

Sorry if I get you borred but you asked for it. :)

You could avoid all this by showing the diamond to independent accredited appraisal.

Good luck. :)

Thank you, Leonid. I appreciate your advise. It's fun to play with Gemadviser.

The EGL certified replacement value is near $8000, which is much higer than $2500-$3000. Should I buy it if the price is around $2500? :cheeky:

You can always buy similar stone for that money from the web. $8,000 is overinflated value.

If you haven't done it yet, you might want to look at other stones including ideal cut and compare them before making final decision.

You also might want to check clarity and color grades independently.
