President Bush passed away at the age of 94.

Very sad news

Just saw this news - sad to hear.
 
I immediately thought of this song when I heard the news. May he and Barbara rest together forever in peace.

I saw this this morning and was said. He did live a long life.
 
He was an intelligent, honorable man. I feel very sad about losing him and also about recently losing his wife, Barbara Bush. It is not that they were taken "too soon". I feel about losing them the way I feel about losing my parents. (My mother lived to 90 and my father to 96.) I feel that the world will be diminished without them.

Very sad news...I feel bad for his family..I got to see the personality of his granddaughter Jenna on the Today Show..I really like her..He will leave a huge hole in that family.
 
I just saw this... very sad indeed, but a life well lived. RIP.
 
My husband and I were watching TV when his death was announced. The first thing we both said was he is with his love again. My husband said he was surprised he lived as long as he did after losing her.

I feel bad for his family and am happy his granddaughter recently had her wedding, It’s wonderful that she has the memories of her grandfather at her wedding. Knowing George and Barbara are together probably brings comfort to the family.
 
A true American. Glad he's with his wife and daughter and family now. I know every generation says this but we are losing the great Americans.

He lived a life to be proud of.
 
If GHW Bush was a Dem. we would be on pages 8 by now and the left wingers here would be telling us why he was such a great Prez. The liberal media are using #41's passing to bash Trump. :knockout:

No one is doing that here... you’re just trying to stir up trouble as usual. No one has said a negative thing about GW. Does that bother you? Not enough controversy?

How are your grandchildren, DF? Did you and your family enjoy a nice Thanksgiving? How are the girls’ homes/husbands/jobs? And how is your lovely wife?

Grandkids are growing like weeds.
I ate too much on Thanksgiving.
Both of our daughters/husbands are doing fine working full time jobs.
My wife wakes up 7:30am M-F to go babysitting.

It is hard to miss how infinitely superior George H.W. Bush was compared to Donald Trump. Who do you think should be blamed for the simply enormous difference in their abilities, intelligence, moral character, and competence? Certainly it is not the fault of "the liberal media" that one man was a leader while the other is a self-absorbed, selfish, incompetent buffoon parading around as if he were an absolute monarch. Parading around like an absolute monarch who practices petty and huge cruelties towards everyone whom he chooses as a target be they babies at the southwest the border that he can separate from their mothers or reporters who are tortured to death by his atavistic and bloody brethren in the House of Saud.

DF, I am so happy to hear that you and your family are doing well! Despite our political differences, I have always enjoyed keeping up with your milestones and family "stuff" over the years. However, what are YOU doing all day M-F from 7:30a.m. til your wifey gets home??? One can only masturbate so many times...:lol-2::eek2::P2:kiss2:

I honestly do care about you and your family. And I have always told you that your opinions hit home with me because you sound like my father/have similar viewpoints. Besides that, you are really, unfailingly correct about economic downturns/upswings here historically. It's like getting free financial advice! I have always understood your perspective regarding government safety nets, and at certain times agreed with you. We differ in that I think I have more compassion towards more people on the whole. I mean that as outside of my immediate family, I like helping others regardless of what circumstances led them to needing to seek help. You are a bootstraps guy, and that's cool. We will probably never agree. But I hope that people like you and me can work together towards making this country more efficient and better at giving back to the very people who make up its citizenship.

George Bush did a wonderful job with his father’s eulogy today. It has to be terrible to lose both your parent in such a short amount of time.

Has anyone seen the picture of the past presidents talking before Trump arrived and then after Trump arrived and sat down? Talk about a stark contrast. I actually thought Trump would back out of attending. It was depressing to see a group of men and women who genuinely loved our country and know that Trump is our leader now.

I think we will see higher inflation in the next 2 yrs.

What do you expect when you have 3 Dem. Prez. sitting to his left?.

They were trashing 41 (calling him a wimp) when he was Prez., and now that he had passed the liberal media are saying that he was a great Prez. What a bunch of bull.

Everytime when I meet new Chinese immigrants I tell them not to depend on government benefits, but if you must it should only be for a short period of time till you find a job. Your goal is to contribute to the tax system and not to take from system. Don't listen to the Chinese liberal media on TV. :lol: I have been here in the US for over 50 yrs and I know what I am talking about. :praise:
