Any thoughts / opinions / insights are appreciated. Many thanks.

diamond looks good on paper based on proportions. i would be wary of the surface reaching feather that extends from crown to pavilion. the same feather that is plotted on both crown and pavilion views of the report.

Agreed. The majority of feathers (breaks/fractures in the crystal) in polished diamonds are benign, since they already survived enormous pressure and friction during the manufacturing process. Nevertheless, I check feathers on an individual basis for durability. From the plot above I believe this diamond, in particular, should receive durability assurances from a skilled stonesetter prior to mounting; since pressure will be applied again in that process. If the jeweler guarantees no worries, and covers the diamond against damage while being set, it's good.

I like to add that all diamonds have natural cleavage planes, so even a flawless diamond can chip or crack if it takes a knock the wrong way - that's why having insurance for any diamond is advisable when it comes to daily wear.

Thank you both for your replies. I will make sure to discuss the feather before going ahead with the purchase.
