Hi there,

I'm new to the pricescope community but was hoping you guys could help me out by giving me an opinion on a diamond. I'm currently looking at engagement rings and was looking for around a 1 carat round diamond that is SI1 or VS1 with a H or I colour. I have a budget of around $6000 CAD. I've found a diamond online that has slightly better stats than this and at a reasonable price. I was wondering if you guys could give me an opinion on this diamond!

I would be purchasing this diamond online so have not had a chance to see it in person.

What do you guys think? All opinions are welcome :)

The diamond is deep at 63.2% and has strong fluoro. Are you okay with it facing up smaller than it should? It is verified to be eye clean and the fluoro doesn't show any negative effects?

Yes I phoned the company to verify that it was eye clean and that the fluorescence had no effect under normal lighting. What does it mean that the diamond will be facing up smaller than it should? Thanks for the response!

A .95 ct round should have the diameter of about 6.4 mm, but because the one you are considering is deep, it faces up smaller than 6.4 mm. The girdle is also thicker than it should be, thereby retaining weight there instead. So it is confirmed that the diamond does not look hazy?

depth - 60- 62.6
table - 54 - 57
crown angle - 34.4 - 34.8
pavillion angle- 40.5 - 40.9
girdle - thin to medium and other variances

I have double checked with the company and they said that the gemoligist that reviewed it and noted that the diamond was eye clean and was not milky in appearance. Also that the fluorescence does not have a negative effect in normal lighting.

I also came across this diamond, which seems to have similar stats but a better HCA rating of 0.8:

Would you consider this a better buy? I think it is not as deep and is still in my price range at $5931 CAD

Does the vendor not provide any pictures at all?

I've phoned the vendor and they said they will request the photos for me from their vaults. They said their vaults are all over the world so the quality of the photographs may vary. Apparently they can get them to me within 24 hours so I will post the photos as soon as I have them. Thanks for being patient with me. This is my first time choosing a diamond and its quite a daunting task!

Hi there,

The vendors have sent me pictures and I was wondering if I could get your opinion :)

This is the original diamond I posted about:

And this is the second diamond I'm looking at, that I posted in a reply:

What do you guys think?
