So I''ve been on the diamond hunt. Jon from GOG created a video for me a couple of days ago, but I wasn''t feeling the 2 diamonds he got in. However, he still has a cushion in his store that I''ve had in mind - it''s a 4 main. I wanted to try and find an 8 main, but apparently they are difficult to find in the carat size I''m looking for. I''ve also been debating about getting her a round...Ahhh...such big decisions. Any help is appreciated haha.

What do you think of this cushion? I don''t want to give too many details in case someone will snag it.

Table: 64%
Depth: 70.1%
Girdle: Thin to Very Thick
Crown: 39.08
Pavilion: 41.47

I really like it, is it the sort of cushion you were looking for? This stone won't be hard to track down so if you are seriously interested in it put it on hold.

I''m no expert, but that is a pretty stone.

The comparison video Jon did for you with the two other antique chunky faceted cushions was good.
This stone looks pretty with nice light return in the middle of the table.
However its pretty small faceup 5.12X5.29 but its an F!.

I don't know if this is for you or your women but size really does matter and this is a lot smaller than your range of 0.8 - 1ct.

These two stones below might be in your budget(conver to US and PS vendors can sometimes give you a discount over BN). I would suggest either of these if you still want the 8 main modern cushion brilliant. They are almost 0.8mm larger in faceup or 15% bigger.

I would suggest getting Jon at GOG or Mark at ERD or Bob at WF to call one of these in and get them to give you the best price possible, I would expect it to be cheaper than BN.

If Jon does it he might charge you shipping if you don't take it but then at least you could do a final side by side video with the 4 main you are considering, I guess if he agrees to call it in then he is guaranteed to make the sale.

Also just so you get an idea of what a GOG OMC looks like in a ring in different lighting take a look at this http://www.vimeo.com/6401615.

Thanks CCL. I''m definitely having doubts due to the size...that particular cushion will look like a 0.5 RB face up.

With that in mind, I was just thinking about getting a RB for her (she likes RBs too). There is a RB from GOG that I am considering...it''s an SI1 and about 0.7mm larger. It''s around the same price as the cushion. I''m still on the search for other candidates though.

I tried to post pics of the RB, but it''s not working right now.
