I read everyone's new year's resolutions on another thread, and most of them seem to center around gymming, running, losing weight and being fit. To which I say - well done!

Unfortunately, I'm not *quite* there. I'm more...here...

The 7 Stages of Food Regret

1) Disappointment:
“Darn! I’m not going to lose as much weight on my diet today as I had planned!”

2) Resignation:
“Ah well! I can start the diet tomorrow.”

3) Confession:
“I don’t feel well….”

4) Repentance:
“Oh lord! Never, EVER again with the fries, the pie and the chili!”

5) Shame:
“I can’t fit into these jeans. Could I EVER fit into these jeans? Can I fit into ANY of my jeans?? I think I need someone to help me out of this chair….”

6) Condemnation:
“Food is the spawn of Satan and I am in the 7th circle of hell. With a toilet. Hell with a toilet. That’s where I am.”

7) Acceptance:
“The only way I am fitting through that doorway is with the assistance of the jaws of life.”

Happy new year, everybody, and let's all throw off the guilt of over-indulgence and power on to better health!

I got 4 fancy boxes of chocolates this Christmas and I am not a huge fan of chocolate. No problem with these delights straight to the office they went. But it is the other holiday foods- cheeses, potatoes, breads, chips/dips, homemade cookies, pasta, and festive alcoholic drinks that is my downfall.

Omg, on the last flight I took this holiday season, I had to unbutton my jeans. Leggings are everything...but after a long flight around Thanksgiving, even my Lululemons started digging into my tummy! They make you look so good but not great for sitting down for 6+hrs. Luckily though, after Christmas, I toned down the food and am finally feeling starting to deflate from the holidays.

Let me help you. High-waisted leggings.
You're welcome. ;)

I gave myself permission to indulge the last 2 weeks but am now back to reality. I've been blessed with a metabolism that won't quit- until last year when I added on about 35 extra pounds. I've lost about 25 since the summer and I have good days and bad days. My extra weight brought a lot of back pain and I will not go back to that again so, all of my holiday goodies (and wine) went into the garbage last night. OMG I am in sugar withdrawal hell right now :)

I’m definitely in the “shame” stage LOL.

We were out running errands this afternoon and I am glad the weather is crummy. It kept us from going out to dinner. One would think in the past 40 years I would have learned it’s easier to just watch calories during the holidays.

LOVE it! So there. And, as committed as I am to get back on the wagon, my brother decided to postpone our Christmas get together until this Friday. So like, why should I even TRY and be good, when it will all go to pot in 2 days. So yeah, it's just non stop.

I don't know how you even recover from that. I started Christmas in full force on the 20th and it wound down for me yesterday. Today was the first day back on the wagon (sort of - if only I could bring myself to throw out the eggnog....). If it went for another 2 weeks for me, I'd be at Stage 7 on the Food Regret scale!!

This year has been the longest, most drawn out holiday season EVER. We can't keep doing this though... extenuating circumstances this year, so hopefully it will go back to being a 2 week affair -- which is bad enough!! UGH!!

Well, I hear you. And perhaps so. But then again....

BLING! So there *is* that....

I do get it tho. With family in Australia, on the west coast of the US and my home and husband on the east coast....I end up with multiple events and a very drawn out festive season pretty much every year. But on the other hand....

BLING!

So there's that.... :kiss2:

(Sorry - scales? What scales?)

And...wait...eating for TWO???

I managed to lose weight over the festive period!

DK

I’m thrilled for you @msop04 . Such happy news!

Thanks so much! A Christmas miracle!

...and a miracle if I don't gain 50lbs. I've gotta get my sh!t in check!! ...next week. ;) LOL

You're welcome. ;-)

Lolol! *immediately starts shopping* I also have some cotton Kate Spade leggings that never dig in, but I think that’s just cause they’re a little flimsier and forced to accommodate me lol :P2

Congratulations! This is just wonderful news! Blessings to you as you wait for the arrival of your 2 new family members! <3

Thank you!! ...but just one new family member we think?? (OMG, please don't be two!).

I guess I should clarify -- ONE baby (we think) and one hungry mommy. ;)
