Hello All,

How do I know that the GIA report corresponds to the diamond purchased. Is there a serial number laser inscribed on the stone?

Thanks...

The serial number isn''t always inscribed but you can take it to an appraiser to verify that all the figures match the certificate.

Yep, sometimes its engraved, sometimes its not. An appraiser will be able to verify it for you.

If you have a loupe, and it is a lower clarity (easier to detect inclusions) you could give it a go yourself and look to see if the inclusion plot matches the stone? Obviously not ideal, but you may be lucky enough to have a very distinct set of inclusions that makes it obvious that the stone is yours.
