So I *might* be able to upgrade my 3.02ct F VS2 to a 4 carater if I can agree on a deal with a local vendor.

With that in mind ( *IF* I'm able to sell my 3 carater to the local vendor at a price I'd be reasonably happy with), here's a 4 carater I'm considering (i've asked Jim to put it on hold for me):

I know it's not an ACA. I know it's not from GOG. BUT with this size and colour (I'm extremely colour sensitive AND I do want the bigger size, the more bling the better - that's my motto

), an ACA from WF or a stone from GOG would cost me a lot more $$$$$, so I'd be ok with something not *as* superior. Having said that though, I'd still want it to be of an excellent cut and I do want it to be extremely "eye-clean". It scores a 0.7 on the HCA. However, clearly it isn't a perfect H&A from the pic on the JA website.

So, what do you all think?

ETA: I've been thinking VERY hard about the small increase in diameter for the last 2 years - since I got my 3 carater. I suppose I could get another diamond for same amount of money, maybe even less money, that I'm putting in for this possible upgrade. But I've made up my mind, if I can get this upgrade for the amount of $$$$$ I'm thinking about, then this is what I'll do, subject to PSers' approval. If I don't get this 4 carater, I'm going to get a fancy yellow diamond instead, meaning in addition to my 3 carater, but this would be my second option.

It looks like a very nicely cut diamond and HUGE!!! Does Jim have an Idealscope image available of this diamond? It looks good and has great numbers, but for that amount of $$ an IS image would be very useful. Are you sure it matches your personal comfort level for ' eyecleanliness?' It looks clean in the mag pic and looking at what you want, you may have found it!!!!

Ooooooooh, it could be nice. I can't wait to hear more about the stone and see pics from JA

(not the sample one). Is it eye clean?

I''m all for going bigger!! If you are happy with everything then I say go for it!!!!

I''m getting my shades ready for when you post pictures

As you already know, it''s extremely difficult to find the perfect combination of cut, color, clarity, and price in this size range. If you can swing it, I would jump on it. It''s HUGE-mongous and will be sparkly / beautiful just because of its sheer size! It may not be that perfect GOG or WF ACA, but I can only imagine how hard it is to find a 4 carat EYE-CLEAN SI1. I had difficulty (or lack of patience) finding an eye-clean 3 carater, and eventually dropped in size.

It''s larger than 1 cm...I can''t wait to see pictures of this beauty (and the finger coverage it''s going to provide)!!
