I just got a 0.8ct Whiteflash ACA last month, but am already thinking of upgrading it to 1.0-1.1 ct in several years. A 1ct ACA RB costs at least $3,000 more than a regular one of the same 4c's. Is it just the ACA cut that makes so much difference in price? I did find some non-ACA, non-ES stones that look promising from the numbers. Not sure with the WF upgrade policy. Does the new stone have to be ACA also?

My 0.8 ct ACA costed me around $3,600, but if I went up to a 1.0 ct ACA with same color/clarity, it would cost around $9,000 which was too much beyond my budget.

Diamond prices are increased at various "tiers" within the carat weight ranges, there is a price increase that occurs between the 0.89 - 0.90 | 0.99 - 1.00 carat marks (specific to the range you''ve specified, they occur at other weights as well) and so a 1.00 carat round will cost more per carat than a 0.99 carat round of the same quality. The price increase has nothing to do with the White Flash ACA brand.

best to contact WF directly, however i have upgraded with them to a larger carat weight but one color grade lower, and can''t tell a difference other than the size. but if once you have an ACA, I think its harder to give up that standard, for larger carat weight . but others may feel differently.
