I have been looking all day for something to put my upcoming asscher-cut (maybe spinel) into. I found this setting, and I LOVE it, but I have a few questions that hopefully you ladies and gents can help me with.
It comes with a peridot (I found it on overstock.com while just browsing for ideas). It would be able to hold my asscher, I think? Do asschers need particular settings, or is the usual prong setting ok? Also, it has the "open" setting - the space under the stone - and reviews say that the sharp edges will cut your finger. I know some of you ladies here have rings like this. Is that an actual problem? If it is, can I get a jeweler to smooth down the pointed edges without ruining the design?
