my FI picked out my diamond and i absolutely love it, i was shocked that it received an HCA score of over 4! i haven''t noticed any problems

i know that the HCA is a weeding out tool when purchasing a diamond, but i was curious if anyone has a similar experience to mine, i''ll post photos once i get some decent ones

Absolutely!

Mine scores a 4, my fiance picked it out himself and he isn''t really into shopping or diamonds. He just picked out the shiniest one he could find, lol, and made sure it was an excellent cut grade (GIA graded). It''s an F, VS2, and I just adore it! I''ve gotten so many compliments on my ring and how sparkly and white it is.

WOW! That stone surely looks beautiful to me, no matter what HCA score it got! Hubba, hubba!

Its a STUNNING ring MTG. One thing I would hate to see here is for all the nitpicking that goes on recently and especially of images, for us to lose sight of what is most important - beauty which makes the wearer happy. A diamond does not have to have perfect images, numbers and HCA score to be beautiful.

Thanks guys!
Yeah, my fiance really isn''t into diamonds or jewelery at all. I think it took him a day of internet snooping to get a feel for ballparks, and then one trip to a brick and mortar store. He doesn''t really know anything about H&A, AGS, Idealscopes, etc and really doesn''t want to either, haha. I think it took him maybe a week from "I should propose" to "Ok, got the ring".

A part of me was a little sad because I have no plans of ever upgrading, and it would have been nice to have a tip-top cut. But mostly I just love it

Nobody other than me knows the HCA score, and everyone who sees it thinks it''s a beauty (which it is!). I''m also more a colored stone person than a diamond girl, so my standards aren''t as high as some on here either.

In the future, I might buy myself a little diamond pendant, and I''ll get to pick the diamond out myself and satisfy my nit-picky curiosity.

Itta..if you love it then it''s perfect!

When looking for my diamond for my e ring i gave my boyfriend specific instructions:

ex,ex,ex on the certificate, 6.5mm in diameter was the perfect number with f/g in colour and an eye clean si1.

He got absolutely everything that i asked for but it only scored 3 on the HCA!

It''s an 1.05 carat f colour si1 and i love it to bits although i am really bad at taking pictures.
