My vote for Julie. Such magnificent stone, doesn't need any additional sparkle around it.

Love the Julia but the price difference gives me a pause as well. If preffer the halo anyway, it certainly makes sense financially.

I voted for the Julia. I think your OEC will look spectacular on it's own without a halo around it.

Thanks,Alene, marcy, junebug17 and InnaR!

Decodelighted-I am actually leaning towards the Julia setting pitot the two, it's just that the cost is more. I like the idea of having 6/8 prongs....do you have any suggestions of another setting?

I love them both-but since the gabby is more affordable now and you love it I say go for it!

You can ALWAYS save up for the julia later on down the road and sell the gabby (and probably get what you paid into it or close to it) OR put a beautiful sapphire/gemstone in it later for a RHR once you reset :naughty:

Either way congratulations on the beautiful stone!!

I'm with vintagelover229, I'm not partial to halos but I really like that stone in the Gabby halo...not too much bling and it is so different from other halos. Definitely get the gabby and later you can sell it or use it with another stone. It is beautiful with your diamond and for $1,000 you can't beat the price. Very impressive ring. Whatever you choose, i'm sure you will love.

I 'm not sure if your decision has been made, but I definetely go with Gabbie, because the other is too boring and too plain, it has nothing interesting at all. Gabbie will catch people's eyes, you will fall in love with it anytime you look at it. trust me...I am so picky about jewelry. One thing needs to think about OEC is not sparkling as much as RBC for modern stone, so if you go by Julia your ring will look so plain, in other hand if you add the sparkling small diamond around OEC it would bring your center stone up.

Another vote for the Julia. I much prefer the solitaire to the halo setting and I also prefer the wider shank of the Julia on a larger finger.

Thanks, ariel144 and Jessica1973. :))

Nanward, no I haven't made a final decision. I will probably decide Monday or tuesday of this week when I talk to Grace. I just don't want to hold them back from selling the setting because I cannot make up my mind. I do understand that OECs have slower and broader flashes than a RB which has faster, small, pinpoint flashes. That is part of what I love about it, though.

I know that the Gabbie would be more affordable earlier in your financial year, but is it REALLY the one you want? You sound as tho you are still torn... If you would always be wondering about the Julia ("if only I'd saved/waited another month or so...." kind of thing) then in the overall scheme of life, whats a few more months of saving/waiting, if it means getting the setting that YOU prefer??

We can all vote but we won't be wearing it or financing it. When you close your eyes and think about your new diamond - what setting is it sitting in ??? :naughty: That's the one you should get - money is money ---- there will be another paycheque, so get the one you want the most!

You still have 2 more nights to sleep on it! Good luck :halo:

Thanks, Enerchi, that is some great advice. Luckly I just have to decide yes or no on the Gabbie in two days. Then I have until July/August to decide what setting I want. Now, if I close my eyes and imagine my ring.....it would be in the Sophie bezel by VC  .....or a solitaire like vatche u113 or Julia. They are two completely different looks, a stand alone ring and a solitaire. So once I decide my final yes or no on the Gabbie, then I have to figure out which of those would be best! Decisions, decisions.

Oh... Sophie!!!! YOWZERS!!! There's a stunning little piece of metal and diamonds...!!!
Yeah, I'd put that up to the top of the list as well- I see your dilemma! Maybe your paycheque is bigger than mine, but - wow - out of my league for sure!

I love DS's new Vatche u113 solitaire - its a stunning set. I don't think you can go too far wrong with the choices you've narrowed it down to, but you are right, they are all different. ARe you looking for something familiar to your other items, or new and out of your regular style for this stone? Don't you just love the planning part!!

I am not too concerned with the style matching my other jewelry, since the only other large piece I wear is my eternity band. That will move over to my right hand when this ring comes. My original e-ring was damaged, so it sits in my jewelry box, unwearable.

The planning part is fun, but frustrating and nervewracking as well! All the choices are sooooo different. The sophie would be a gorgeous, antique style stand alone ring, but the most expensive. The Julia is a great solitaire with amazing prongs and great details prom the side, and not nearly as expensive as the Sophie. The vatche u113 is a beautiful solitaire, very clean, and more of a sleek/modern look. It is also the least expensive, but I am not 100% that it would do my OECthe same justice as it does RBs.

As far as my paycheck, no, definitely not THAT big. Haha. By the time it is finished, it will have been two years in the making, which involved a great deal of saving and budgeting. This is also my push present for my daughter, anniversary, Christmas, bday, ect. It will be one heck of a present :naughty: haha.

How gorgeous is the Julia!

So sleek and simple and timeless. Another vote for the Julia!
