Hello! Expert diamond lovers must also love other types of stones too right? Any tips on polishing up a marble table? Ordered a side table and there was some etching or dullness on the surface. With the heavy discount from the vendor, we are thinking about still keeping it and just trying to polish it to get the even sheen back? Any tips? I don't think it is stained. It's just a dull spot when you see the light not reflecting from certain angles. Tried searching on Amazon but there are tons of products with confusing reviews that either work great or not. Appreciate it!

Shame I didn’t know before @PierreBear I have some great stuff that I used on my granite counters when we moved here. They were dull and dry, and after spraying them, they were really glossy and looked like new. It’s not available there, but there’s got to be some similar.

Hi @PierreBear did a little bit of research for you and perhaps this link will be helpful.

When rubbing the marble with the polishing powder, do not apply a lot of pressure because you could scratch the marble. It is more important to rub quickly or at a high frequency until the etch mark is gone. If the mark does not go away after 20 seconds, slowly begin to apply more pressure to remove the mark.

The reviews for this product look decent and there's a 10% off coupon on the site.

I checked the reviews for Amazon and also decent reviews but more expensive on Amazon so I would purchase it here I think. And it's not eligible for Amazon Prime anyway.

Good luck and hope you can restore it!

Hello friend! I'm glad you found an easy way to keep counters shiny. How often do you spray it now for maintenance purposes?

Awww you are so sweet to do some digging yourself. Yes, there is a less expensive product on Amazon that made me more nervous. The one you found looks more promising especially with the "satisfaction guarantee" or at least customer service to walk you through it if there is an issue. Hope to report back with a successful DIY project once I bite the bullet and give it a try. I think there is a better chance of it improving the looks than making it the issue worse.

You may have to treat the entire surface to achieve a uniform look. Do a test area on the back rim edge to see what effect if any it will have. Marble is really soft and porous so be careful. It was discounted for a reason.

You may need to have it professionally polished. I have this done on my natural stone about every 4 to 5 years. For a small table, shouldn't be too expensive. Wishing you luck!

Let us know how it turns out. As you write you don't have much to lose and I find that things are discounted for ease of purchase and much of the time it isn't a difficult fix. Hope this turns out well for you. Look at it as a fun project. And fingers crossed that your piano sells soon!
