Polishing cloths and 14kt. yellow gold

Are jewelry polishing cloths safe to use on 14kt. YELLOW gold? Do they remove any of the gold?

Yes. They only remove microscopic bits of the gold. Less than a jeweller polishing it would. They are impregnated with rouge.

Thank goodness. I used one and was concerned I had compromised the gold. I don't want to "thin" my band.
