I'm considering purchasing a diamond (2nd hand) with the following specs (from GIA report)---- only thing I'm a bit concerned about is that polish and symmetry is rated as VG. The stone was originally purchased from Blue Nile and I've been able to see the magnified 360 view https://www.bluenile.com/diamond-details/LD07544052 Any help is greatly appreciated!
1.81 carat, round, H/SI1, Cut - Excellent
Measurements: 7.84-7.93x4.82
Table- 56%
Depth-61.1%
Crown Angle -35
Pavilion Angle - 40.8
Girdle: thin - medium (3%)

The stone looks fine. I prefer all excellent, but you shouldn't be able to see the difference. The number one factor is the price, since it is second hand.

Hi Yasmin,

The proportions of the diamond are fine, if the diamond were cut to a higher degree of optical precision then it should exhibit a high volume of light return and a virtual balance of brilliance and dispersion.

However, if you look at the clarity photograph provided in the original listing, you can see that the diamond is exhibiting a moderate amount of obstruction (the black asymmetrical shapes) between the arrows and this is making the mid-region of the diamond appear darker than it would if cut better.

I've added red arrows to the clarity photograph to make it easier for you to identify what I am referring to:

This is different than "clustering" which commonly occurs at the base of the arrows pattern created by the pavilion main facets. I've noticed a direct correlation between this type of obstruction and light leakage in ASET/Ideal Scope images.

Also take notice of how the tips of the arrows are not aligned with the arrow shafts in several places and there is some paddling around the tips of the arrows.

The second Adiamor is much better. Will they provide an IS (idealscope) or ASET image?

But, depending on your priority relative to size, I like these and the IRL videos better. JA will generally provide up to 3 IS images.
