I'm getting "dragged" to a big antique fair in a few weeks by some friends. (Girls' weekend outing.) I'm not particularly interested in buying more stuff for my house (which is why I'm less than enthusiastic about this)-- but then it occurred to me that I could check out antique/estate jewelry dealers there.

Any suggestions or advice? (I obviously don't know a lot about old jewelry.)

Take a 10x loupe for checking stones out. Have fun!

They are alot of fun but you won't be able to tell 'cut".....unless they have certified stones. I love going to these antique shoes but be careful but also have fun

Wouldn't it be nice if there were some decent dealers that carried something worthy of a peak! I hope they are there are for you!

We went to a show here in my state, featuring a lot of dealers just last spring, I was so excited, took my loop etc. I was so disappointed!! Mainly costume jewelry.

I remember we'd go to the same antique fair, & Id walk by these glittery displays of old diamond jewelry. ;( ;( This was nearly 15 or so years ago, if only I knew then what I know now.
