Also,
- What is the ideal ca/pa range in % numbers? (I do know the ideal range in degrees)
- I heard that ca/pa % specs are generally inaccurate - should I be concerned?
- I should have Idealscope/Sarin/ASET early next week - will repost then.

Thank you!

My concern would be what EGL lab graded this. EGL USA less concerned. EGL elsewhere I would be concerned that the color and clarity are potentially grossly overstated (especially EGL Israel) - given the price for this stone I am willing to bet it is an EGL Israel stone priced according to true specs.
crown % and pav % are not as accurate as angles, but this stone does have potential. IS images will help when you get them

Have you seen this stone in person?

I haven''t seen the stone. WhiteFlash/supplier gave me a more realistic grade: H-SI (not entirely certain on the grade within SI). I know I am getting what I pay for - I just need to be careful that I don''t get less :)!

I am relying on WF to be my eyes while evaluating this stone - esp the CLARITY grade which is a bigger deal for me after CUT grade. From what I have read on these forums, they seem to be a reliable vedor ... correct?

I have attached the cert - can anyone tell which lab this came from?

It is EGL Israel. It is fine to purchase one with a report from them as long as you are (as you mentioned!) paying the proper price and aware of it! You are, after all, purchasing the diamond and won''t be carrying the report around!
WF has a good reputation. They would not want to sell you a diamond that you would send back. I would just be extremely clear on what their definition of eyeclean is in relation to your definition. Is your definition from 3 inches? 12 inches? from the side and bottom too? Just communicate with them any questions you have.

Yep 10 digit number.

Hi there :) Missed you!

One other note. If you were to purchase this from WF, and ever wanted to upgrade, EGL stones do not qualify for that. I''m not saying this to talk you out of it, just a heads up!

Using DiamCalc, the crown angle is 34.9 and the pav angle is 40.7. Using the AGA Cut Class calculator you have a 1A overall grade with the only 1B characterisitc the slightly steep crown angle. You must remain very concerned with the accuracy of color and clarity grading and that the price you are going to pay fits the GIA gradeswhich this diamond represents. Don''t roll the dice unless you are a dedicated gambler.

Thanks! Should I be concerned about the slight steepness of the crown angle?

No - it still has good potential. Have they gotten the stone in yet?

No. I actually eliminated this stone because it was not eye-clean from within 3 inches.

:), thanks for bringing up this important issue!!

You''re welcome - I am glad I was able to help!
