Hello everyone, I’m new to pricescope and have already found many past helpful posts about picking out the right diamond. Thank everyone for all those super useful Information And I see there are lots of experts on here so please please help me out here. So my husband has finally gave me the go for an upgrade and I need help deciding which RB diamond to go with. These are the specs

1) 2.53 e vs2
Table 59
Crown angle 34
Pavilion angle 40.8
Depth 60.2

HCA 1.2

2) 2.4ct d vvs2
Table 58
Crown angle 33.5
Pavilion 40.8
Depth 60.2

HCA 0.8

Since both of these diamonds are from online vendor, I don’t have any Aset image or anything else to show light performance. I only have these numbers from GIA to base off from. And the price difference between these two is about 10k. Would you pay an additional 10k to get the D color? Will there be any visual difference between the two? Is it worth it? The carat weight between the two is not that much different, and from the researches I have done it seems like there are no visual differences between the colors and clarities of the two as well. So I guess my true concern is the fire and brilliance, will the D color one perform better since HCA score is 0.8??
I also read that the super ideal cuts should have table 55-57 and crown angle 34.3- 35. For the E color one, it’s slightly off from these numbers, does it matter? I’m just so overwhelmed by these numbers please please help me! :oops2:

Which one would you go with???:confused:I’d really appreciate any input please, thank you thank you =)2

Do you have any images of the stone at all? What is the asking price? Those are all important factors.

What is your budget and desired specs?

Thank you for your reply. These are the links for the two diamonds. I would say preferred budget is 40k but since it’s once in a lifetime upgrade, I just want it to be as perfect as possible. =)2 I want the carat size to be around 2.5, other than that just cut. I know with the specs I want I won’t be able to afford their Astor so I want to find one that’s as close to the Astor cut as possible amongst their ideals.

Mmmm, not really caring for either of them for that price. I would go with a Super Ideal H&A AGS000 stone for that price and like
you said, its a once in a lifetime upgrade (but it doesnt have to be).

Super Ideal vendors usually have all the images so you're not guessing about the performance. Plus AGS Ideal light return.
They dont have a D but here is an E if you want to stay really high in color

Thank you very much for the feedback! So my question is will there be much visual difference between the ones you have recommended and the ones I have picked??
I did look at some super ideal cuts from other websites but since my original diamond was from bluenile, I thought I had to upgrade with them in order to get back the full value from the original purchase. And there hasn’t been much selection in their Astor collection over 2ct. My original diamond was a bluenile signature collection five years ago, I really want to stay within the super ideal cuts but just haven’t been able to find the right combination for the past year on their site, so decided to look for an ideal... :???:
what would you recommend me to do? I just feel so lost here :mrgreen2:

thank you again! I truly appreciate it!

Agreed 100% with @tyty333 . I don't love either one for the price.

@Nancy Z how much are you getting for your trade in with blue nile? And is that accounted for in the price (e.g. how much is your budget without the trade in)? Just trying to understand whether you are locked into blue nile or not.

My original ring was 18k so without trading I’d say no more than 30k including taxes.

OP, eventho I’m not an expert, I know that the $10k price difference isn’t just from E-D but also from VS2 to VVS2. VVS clarity will impact the price significantly. If I really really need to choose only from those 2. I definitely choose 2.53 E VS2. As you can’t really differentiate D&E color in real life anyway, unless you have OCD and had to get a D. As long its eyeclean, I don’t feel there’s a need to pay VVS premium. Clarity is my least priority of 4Cs and the first one I will make compromise of to get the best value.
58% table might be better than 59% but I don’t know about the 33.5% too.
For myself, if I have your budget, I would choose None of those 2. But if I got asked by my family that doesn’t really care about cut of diamond, I’ll choose 2.53 E

Thinking more about it, I won’t be willing to pay $40-50K for those 2 tho even for other people... Its because I think $40k-50k its a lot a lot of money and I’ll be getting a 3ct if I have that much money. But everyone have different financial backgrounds and different situation off course...

Thank you very much for your honest feedback. Personally I think 3ct might be too big for me so I want something around the 2.5 range. And I’m pretty color sensitive so I want it to be colorless, so minimum F color. Like you’ve mentioned clarity isn’t that much of concern to me, but I read some previous posts stating minimum clarity of vs2 for larger carat sizes to be eye clean. So that’s what I’m aiming for. Bluenile really doesn’t have much selections I feel like, within those criteria I filtered, most of them have crown angle of 35.5-36.5 and from the posts I have read that’s too steep for super ideal cuts? And some other ones even VS1 I can see black carbon spots in their 360 view. So I feel like the e vs2 is the best I can pick out from the pile with a nice HCA score... :( I’ve been checking their inventory daily hopefully a nicer one comes along soon:(2

Are these two of their Astors worth looking into?? The F is $45,420. G is $45,889? I’m kinds reluctant to go down to G color but the carat size is more pleasing than the F. I would really appreciate any feedback please. Thank you!:)
