It has GIA certificate, and no pics were available. I saw this stone today and took some pics with my phone thru an aset. I did my best, sorry for the quality. The symmetry doesn't look perfect because of the angle of phone over the aset. Please let me know what you think. The price is 9850.00 before tax. Is it worth it
table 58
depth 60.7
Crown 34
Pavilion 40.8

Are the pics too bad or did I said smth wrong that I did not get any response to my question? I would really appreciate if someone could give me any thoughts on this diamond.

That looks good! I use same specs when searching.
And the ASET is great. But let's wait for someone with more experience.

Good luck.

I really appreciate your opinion! Thank you very much. The reason I went to this jeweler was that we bought my 0.6ct from them and now I am trading in my diamond for the price we paid (1,600.00). If I did not have to do the trade in I would definitely consider the diamond you pointed..
I tried to negotiate the price down, but I was told that they can only give me 2% discount if I pay cash. I don't know what else I can do about the price. Should I try to show them some diamonds I found online that priced less than 9850?

Absolutely you should. You would be better off keeping your current diamond for something else (maybe use it for a pendant) and starting over online. I would not trade it in and pay that for the diamond you have posted. Not to say it isn't a good diamond, because it certainly looks to be, but the price.

Here is an example of a larger stone with equal color and clarity along with AGS 000 grading (commands a premium) that is cheaper than they are asking. Also tax free and whiteflash also has a great upgrade policy.

I would give them a chance to come down BELOW what this whiteflash stone is going for, as it commands a premium over the stone you listed. If they say no, leave them your info and tell them to call you if they change their mind, and in the meantime shop online and educate yourself some more on diamonds here on pricescope. :D You will enjoy it.

Out of curiosity, do you own the ASET or does the jeweler provide it? Is the jeweler a local B&M store? If so, I am impressed they have an ASET for customers.

I think that's a pretty good idea to keep the current diamond to reset into a pendant or something and just buy one of the Whiteflash diamonds! That way you have a higher quality stone and get to keep your original diamond for sentimental reasons. WF does have an upgrade policy as well.

But if you stick with the local jeweler, that is a nice diamond.

No, they don't have an aset scope in the local store. In fact, I have been in a few stores and no one has an aset. I bought my own from David Atlas.
I like the idea of keeping my old diamond. I want to buy a new setting ( Vatche U113) so I could just keep my old ring.
The jeweler is not so local, its 5 hours away and I can't go to look at the stone again to make a final decision or negotiate the price down personally. I will have to do this over the phone. In addition, they don't own the stone, they ordered it from the dealer.

Good for you for going into it prepared. Now you know what is online and available at that price point and therefore have more to back up your demands in price negotiation. It is up to you, but I don't think I'd pay that knowing what I COULD be getting. We haven't even looked into diamonds that aren't considered superideal online, so the savings could really start to go up if you looked online for a stone like the local jeweler brought in. Many vendors have great return policies so you could pick a stone out and if it doesn't look good through the ASET you just send it back. I would also drop on clarity to vs2 and get even more bang for your buck. Look at this as an example... 1.29 c and definitely eye clean at vs2. For $1,000 less and money saved on taxes. https://enchanteddiamonds.com/diamonds/view/R129-559CZ6

Or this that is close to what your jeweler brought in but vs2 instead of vs1. $3,000 difference.

Point is, if you look around online I am confident you can find equal or better for less money. Keep us posted!

Many thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts! I greatly appreciate your help! I will contact the seller about the price and post an update.

As for the enchanted diamonds, how can you say that the last one is a great diamond? I don't see an aset/ideal scope image.

I can't say that it is a great diamond, but it does have ideal numbers and scores 1.1 on the HCA falling into the AGS ideal range. I just posted it so that you could see a diamond very similar to the one at the jeweler but $3,000 less and still at a clarity that will be completely eye clean. Your ASET scope would have to confirm performance to your standards.

I have contacted to seller today and they replied : "The best I can do, being that we are trading in .60 G/SI1 round diamond, is $9550 - $1600 = $7950 plus sales tax. I cannot do anything about 7% sales tax"

I want to say big thanks to everyone and special thanks to pfunk for helping me here. After careful thought, I have decided 1) to not trade in my ring at all 2) to postpone my purchase of a new diamond and 3) buy my diamond online :-) when I am ready
I am not leaving pricescope, will educate myself more and will get back to the market soon.

Again, thank you so much, it is a big decision for me and I am very much appreciate the support!
