Hello everybody! How are you? :) My name is Kalen and I just joined this site. I''ve been coming to it for a while now to see pictures of all your beautiful rings and seek your advice. I finally decided to join and actually become a part of this helpful, fun, and wonderful site! I am actually seeking some advice now so any help would be greatly appreciated. This coming Saturday, my boyfriend and I, are going to make a special trip into the city (I live in New York), to start looking at engagement rings! :)
I am reallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy in love with the look of the micro-pave eternity band. It''s what I''ve always wanted! But I''m nervous that it will be uncomfortable to wear due to the prongs/diamonds rubbing against the other fingers. What do you all think? Any opinions?
The other thing is that the four shapes that I love most are: ASSCHER, SQUARE-RADIANT, PRINCESS, and ROUND. I definitely don''t want anything less than VS2 quality and nothing less than a G color. I''m looking for a carat size between 1.00ct and 2.00ct. Do you know which of those 4 shapes would appear the LARGEST? Pics would be so helpful!!!!!!! Also, perhaps advice on who/where to go to.
Again, any advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to hearing from all of you and continuing to chat! Thank you so much!!!!!!! :)

Hi and welcome to PS!! I did have some issue with the pave rubbing against my other fingers, especially when my hands were cold and made my rings spin. It wasn''t bad enough to make me shy away from pave though. You do get used to it. Its kinda irritating at first though!!

I would also highly recommend Good Old Gold. Of the 4 shapes you mentioned, I believe round brilliants face up the largest.

Hi Kalen and welcome. Just so you know, one thread is all you need here to find the answers to your questions. started several all over the forum will just make it harder for folks to help you and the info will be spread out.

I agree with storm and Diamondseeker regarding your search. Since you are in NY, I''d highly recommend making the trip to Goodoldgold and setting up and appt. with Jon. he will show you all the shapes your interested in and it would be well worth your time and travel.

If you can visit gog out in Long Island.
Call and set up an appointment with Jon first.

Ditto that. Call Jonathan and give him a chance to line up some stones for you in advance. If I hadn''t let my permanent residency card run out, I would have flown out from Canada to see some of his beautiful diamonds. Jon finds fantastic stones for people on this board. If you''re heading to NYC, call Mark Turnowski. Out of all the shapes you''re interested, Asschers tend to face up smaller than the other shapes due to their depth. But definitely call them so that they have an assortment of stones in your size and colour range. You are so lucky to get to visit in person!

Hi everyone! I just wanted to say I''m really sorry for posting the thread so many times! I''m new to the site and I figured to just post the thread in each category in case some people visit certain ones and not others. Again, I apologize! I also wanted to say thank you so very much for all of your amazing responses! I really appreciate it! I will definitely follow everyone''s advice! A million times, thank you! :)

P.S. I noticed that all of you mentioned to go see Jon at Good Old Gold (www.goodoldgold.com) in Long Island, New York. I am completely new to searching for/buying jeweler so I know nothing about who or what or where is a good place to go! LoL. I just wanted to ask what made you all recommend John at GOG in Long Island? He has to be amazing for all of you to recommend him :) I was just curious on what exactly what made him so amazing! Thank you guys again! Looking forward to your responses! :)

He''s a great vendor. He is patient, he puts his stones through all kinds of tests, he has a great eye. He''s nice to work with. I bought my asscher from him and an oval. I highly recommend him. Take a look at his website, look at the videos read the tutorials. He''s a dedicated professional who always wants the consumer to be happy. Best of luck!!

Wow, that''s really comforting and great to know! Thank you so much for that information! I really appreciate it, Kaleigh! :)

Happy to help. Also keep your questions to one thread, it gets confusing to follow multiple threads.
