Please help with this whiteflash diamond!

I have been looking at rings/stones for 6 months now and am ready to make that purchase.

Pretty much this is the diamond that whiteflash suggested for me when telling them I wanted around a 1 ct, color G/H, eye clean clarity (vs-s1), perfect cut.

Anyway I would like any opinions about this diamond since I am still a little confused on the perfect angles and widths of the crown and pavillion etc.

Or if you think I can find a better or similar diamond for a better price lead me in the right direction also.

As a general rule of thumb, WF ACAs are all amazingly well cut. Some people will say there are better and worse ones, and that may be true, but in general they are a really safe bet for someone who wants a super-ideal cut and doesn't want to go out and research it all themselves!

That is a lovely diamond and you will probably be very happy. If you are interested or willing to learn a little more about cut, you can probably find a less expensive diamond at www.jamesallen.com, but you will need to sift through the inventory a little more and request things like ideal scopes.

Also, you can try Brian Gavin Diamonds. Brian invented the ACA, and now sells similarly superideal diamonds under his own name.
You can also e-mail and tell them your specs and they will get back to you very soon. They have a number of diamonds right under the 1 ct mark that are around $2000 less than the diamond you linked but which will not be visably smaller.
 
Good advice from dreamer (BTW--I still get a kick out of you avatar every time I see it). I would definitely second contacting Lesley at BGD.

Both are great diamonds, they will have slightly different personalities, the GOG diamond has longer lower girdle facets which I personally like ( this can give a more splintery/ slivery arrowed look and light flashes) - but what I would do next is to find out if either of these are eyeclean to your standards by checking with each vendor, then if so select from there.

It depends on what you want, a non h&a diamond such as a branded one can be an excellent choice if it has great proportions.

As you are visiting both Brian and WF you are in the happy position of seeing h&a and non h&a in person to see exactly what you prefer!

WF and Brian Gavin are located in the same building. Be sure to visit both when you are in the building! You''ll need an appointment with both vendors ,they are not retail shops. In general, I think that BG is a little less expensive than WF but may not have as much selection?

I think they would still be building their inventory so they should have plenty to show clients.

Yes it could be a great diamond, also check it is eyeclean to your standards and that the grade setting cloud isn''t impacting brilliance. Just food for thought, both vendors offer trade up policies but the terms and conditions of each vary so if this is a consideration then ready up carefully.
