Hello,

I have a quick question and I need some advice. I am planning on proposing to my gf at the end of this month and was wondering if the below specs of the diamond I am looking at are good. It is through a family friend and I have not seen the diamond as the store is about an hour away. The price quoted was 7k. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Weight 1.52 ct.
Shape ROUND BRILLIANT
Color H
Clarity SI2
Measurements 7.37 - 7.23 x 4.56 mm
Depth 62.6
Table 64.0
Crown 14.7
Pavilion 44.4
Girdle THIN TO MEDIUM
Polish GOOD
Symmetry GOOD
Fluorescence FAINT
Culet VERY SMALL

if you are only concerned about size, this may fit the bill.

Hello,

"Good" is a relative term, so it depends on what your definition of good is.

It's not a fantastically cut stone, and if I were the one shopping, I'd choose to drop down in size to get a finer cut (make). A smaller but finer make stone will likely look close in size to this one anyway (because less light leakage in better cut stones).

The price seems high considering what else you could get for the money....like this 1.24 H, SI2 stone for 5655.

HCA score 7.2
Light Return Fair
Fire Poor
Scintillation Fair
Spread
or diameter for weight Very Good
I would pass on this diamond big time it is both deep and the table is over large. Plus you only have a GD/GD for polish and symmetry.

Thank you all so far. I knew it was not a great stone but a decent one and I will continue to keep shopping.

Thanks again
