I am currently eyeing Dreamer's w- prong three stone setting on DB (hello Dreamer :wavey: ) to set my newly purchased BGD 0.83 G Sl1. BGD quote for a pair of 0.25 melee was 1235$, which seems to be very high. Do you think it is possible to find a nice pair of FG for 900$ max? I would be very grateful for any tips...

I'd contact IDJ, they found me a pair of gia 0.25ct each diamonds for studs for a good price =)

Thank you, mimin. Can you tell me if they offer a free shipping with purchase?

I would just ask Yekutiel about that. He would be the one to know. Make sure you tell him you are a pricescoper.

Have you asked BGD to source another pair of .25's for your $900 budget? Its possible the pair he quoted for was just the first option he could easily obtain not the best value option after an exhaustive search.

That's true. Also with BGD you don't need a certified pair. And you'd be fine with H color. I'd ask them what they can do for you. Great suggestion chel.

Yukituel was super duper fast and pulled a gourgeuos pair of gia Fs, but a way above my budjet. Thank you for your advices about Bgd as well. My question is would I be able to see a difference between signature BGD center and uncertified, perhaps not so ideal cut sides? Form what I have red so far I should be fine with one color grade down on sided, but what about cut? For your reference, my original Tiffany ring that I currently upgrade holds I color 0.25 diamond which scored 2.5 or something at HCA. i honestly cant see diffrence between this Tiffany stone and my 0,49 H color stud in term of light and color performance. ah..diamonds ..they are all so sparkly to me.

Re: Please help to find a pair of 0.25 for a three stone pro

I don't think you will notice a difference between your center stone and the uncertified side stones, in color (if you go down in color to H) or light performance because of the smaller size of the stones. The difference will be even less obvious if you tell BGD/IDJ to pick the best performers in the bunch. It may be easier to work with BGD because you are already getting your center stone from them. You won't have to worry about shipping and setting fees.

BTW - I have the exact same size center stone (but H color) and had a three stone with .25 ct sides, so I am really excited to see your finished ring!

Thank you onedrop for your advice. Do you have certified side stones?

Re: Please help to find a pair of 0.25 for a three stone pro

You're welcome! I no longer have a three stone, but yes, the side stones in my old ring were certified. They were H&A .25ct each melee. However, it was several years ago when we purchased that ring and diamond prices were a lot lower then. Today, I'd probably go for un-certed stones chosen by a reliable vendor if I were on a strict budget.

Dear Onedrop, I just has looked up your threads, it is actually your ring that I consider to get from Dreamer! :appl: it does look very beatiful on your finger in your old thread. Why did you change to solitaire, was it uncomfortable in everyday wear? I really love the look of it and proportions of center to sides stones. But I worry that it would be too much bling suddenly after my 0.25 solitaire. Where I am from, Germany, people dont have diamond engagement rings and you dont see diamonds here around at all. what to do, what to do...

Re: Please help to find a pair of 0.25 for a three stone pro

Yes, that is my old ring! I hope you do decide to get it, it's really beautiful and I think you'll be very happy with it. That setting is actually very comfortable, because it is set low and does not get caught on things and does not knock against things. The main reason that I changed to a solitaire is that I wanted diamond stud earrings and decided that it would be more cost effective for me to use the side stones as my diamond studs! The other lesser reason, is that I am into bezel style rings. I really, really, really love the three stone look as an engagement ring. In fact, I may go back to that style fairly soon. :naughty: You'll notice a lot more sparkle, and finger coverage. I think if you decide to go ahead with a three stone ring, you will definitely get more attention. Especially since where you live, diamond rings are not common. It is something to keep in mind.

Re: Please help to find a pair of 0.25 for a three stone pro

Thank you everyone for the advice to contact IDJ, Yekutiel was really great with communications and has found me a pair of uncerted HA H color Sl 1 diamonds within my budget. I am looking forward to see the finished ring with those babies!

Onedrop, I have one question for you: how long did you use this setting before you sold it?

Re: Please help to find a pair of 0.25 for a three stone pro

Yes, Onedrop, I decided to give it a shot with the blingastic 3 stone ring. I will see how people would react at it first and then for the lowprofile days use my humble 0.25 tiffany solitaire. Pricescope is very addictive, I am already eyeing those bombastic IDJ jackets with 5 pointers that a user posted for couple of hours ago. :errrr:

Re: Please help to find a pair of 0.25 for a three stone pro

Efriede: Awesome, that you decided to go forward with your three stone! :appl: I am sure it's going to be lovely and that you will really enjoy wearing it. You have to post pictures once it's all finished!!

Yekutiel and IDJewelry are really great at finding things within your wants and budget. So I imagine that the stones he finds for you will be a perfect match to your center stone.

I wore that setting for about 1 1/2 - 2 years maybe? When I changed to the solitaire, Whiteflash polished the three stone setting before sending it back to me and it hasn't been worn since then, so it should be in great shape when you get it. If Dreamer says that it's in good condition, then I think you can trust her judgement. She has a very discerning eye!

I am so excited for your project!
