Hi everyone,

I've been looking around for A beautiful stone and the jeweller im thinking of using has emailed me theses specs;

Square radiant
2.00 carat
E colour
SI1 clarity
Depth 72.2%
Table 66%

The gia report number is 2145406829

Is this a good diamond and Will it be a sparkly.

Thanks in advance

Only way to tell how a fancy cut atone will perform is from images- IDEALSCOPE/ASET. No way to tell by the numbers alone.

Oh, I see. Thanks:)

Do you think the clarity and colour is ok for a 2 carat diamond? Or should I get a smaller one with better clarity?

SI1s are a great value, as long as they're eye clean. You'll need to ask the jeweller to confirm that the stone is eye clean (and ask them to define what they mean by eye clean!).

E will face up very white, so if you prefer icy white diamonds, that will suit you. If you prefer warmer diamonds, you can go down a bit in colour (and likely save yourself some money), but you'll really need to be careful if going too low in colour as it's my understanding that fancy cuts can show a bit more colour in their tips. Again, you'll need to ask the jeweller for their opinion and ideally get them to send you a video or some decent pictures of the stone.

E is a great color- very white. You could prob get a G and still have a very white radiant stone if the cut quality is great (fancies show more body color- even more spin the cut is poor). As for SI1- I'd it's confirmed eyeclean- then go for it.

Even a great cut H. Really depends on your preference and color sensitivity.

Thanks:)

The jeweller got back to me and said that there was a carbon spot in the middle of the stone..
His going to
Look for another one.
