Hi everyone - I am new to this site, but am so impressed at what I see already!
I had my gorgeous 3 stone oval ring stolen in December and am looking to now replace it. Originally I thought I wanted another oval, but I was never very happy with the lack of sparkle in it, so my jeweler recommended a cushion instead.
My old ring was a 3.43carat oval brilliant center stone, with .75 half moons on each side. It was an I color, SI1 and measured 11.49 x 8.68.
My question and hesitation now, is that although the cushions look lovely, will I be satisfied with a stone that looks smaller to the eye? I need help finding a stone that will still look substantial, but fit into my budget of $40,000. Also, I really don't want a modified cut, I really like the traditional brilliant better. And I do not want a halo, I prefer a solitaire or three stone look instead.
Any suggestions or advice on next steps? TY!
