Please help on this diamond

The price looks quick attractive for this one. but what could be wrong for this diamond? is the cloud in the middle a concern? it is just an ideal cut in BN therefore no imagine to see the diamond.

oh another thing I found is that there is no GIA laser inscription in the diamond. should that also be a concern?

It looks good to me -- it scores 1.5 on the HCA (under 2 is good), and it's a VS1, so the cloud probably isn't anything to worry about. Blue Nile is hard, since you don't get to see any pictures of the stone, but I've been told they have a great return policy in case you weren't happy with it.

The proportions look fine and as uberclaire said, it scores well with the HCA. The next step would be for an IS image of the stone, but unfortunately you can't get those from BN, however, if you were interested, there are other vendors with the ability to offer images that could call this same stone in and assess it for you. I know that IDJ will and they will also beat the BN price, so that's something to consider.

It's a VS1 so it's very unlikely that the cloud is affecting the stones brilliance in anyway. Also GIA has only recently begun to inscribe diamonds over 1ct, so no worries about that. There will be a plot diagram on the report to help you verify that it's your stone.

Yes. We have lurkers. We always advise to put stones on hold, then post them for review. That way there is no poaching.
