@DejaWiz @Kim N

I think I care about the blue nuance too much that not giving me peace of mind.
I am thinking finding a replacement.

I need help on these diamonds.

My plan is to bring in another one to compare side by side.
There aren’t many choice left, but I found these, almost same size as my current one.

They are around $4k and it’s about $330 more than my original one.
Not sure if it’s worth it, but I really like crystal clear stone. ( even though I feel blue tint is kind of special)

Please check if they have blue nuance.

2.37 D vs1 : there is a feather on the griddle, will it be a issue? And crown height is 15.5%, would be too tall?

2.4 E vvs2: I really like this one, it’s about $70 more than the other one, and will about $350 more than original one.

and this one is the original one

Kim, sorry, I didn’t post correctly

this should work
2.4 E VVS2

2.37 D VS1

if you can any from FD would be great too!

2.37 D VS1 gets my vote!

I will put hold for both them and do video comparison.
please help me evaluate when video is up.
Thank you so much!

Maybe very slight. I do see a subtle hint of light blue out near the edges of the crown when looking at it from the side profile.

I really thought I saw primarily a slight yellowish hue in the concentrated areas, but of course better to be safe than sorry, especially after the current stone turned out to have some blue nuance.

@DejaWiz and @Kim N
Thanks guys! I did feel very slightly blue but I wasn’t very sure. I thought maybe I was too paranoid and see everything blue…
One last one please. I think this also has very slight blue but I need extra eyes. Thanks!

I'm conflicted about this one.
It appears to have a slight yellowish hue throughput most of the rotational view, but there are those specific viewing angles that appear every so slightly light blue at the very edges of the crown.
Very hard to tell if it's hue or environmental.

I forget to say this one is D color stone. I am not sure is the stone reflecting surrounding color or because blue from stone impacts overall color?

D color is typically a very safe choice, which is why I do my best to only recommend D color for HPHT. But blue nuance can still be present even in a D color, as a few examples have shown in the past. I can't give a definitive answer for this one based on the vendor video. The only way to determine it is to assess it in person.

No blue nuance that I can see...that's a beautiful diamond!

Thank you DeJaWiz!
I am sending my ring back today, hope everything go smoothly!

@DejaWiz @Kim N and all diamond lover, I need help again.
I need help to make final decision on these 2 stone.

Now down to 2 stones, the original 2.37 D VS1 I was asking about, and 2.57E VVS2
I saw 2.37 in person, it is very beautiful but the feather on griddle is kind of bothering me (I can easily see it under 30X and it is a long line) , and depth is a little deep than my liking ( 62.3%) until new 2.37 (with no feather and perfect proportion) popped out and I asked for it. After a long wait, somehow we couldn't get it, so we started new hunt and 2.57 EVVS2 shows up. 2.57 is $500 more than 2.37 but it is a very beautiful stone. It is hard for me to decide, please help me.

2.37 D VS1 - downside: a long feather on griddle, 62.3% depth

2.57 E VVS2 - downside: cost $500 more and might be too large for me? ( wait! is there such thing as diamond being too big? :P2)

Comparison

Please help~~ Thank you all!

I pick the bigger one! The D VS1's inclusion and depth aren't mind-clean for you, and I really like the ASET image for the E.

The depth on the 2.37 is fine: it has a 40.8/35/56 combo with a nice puffy 15.5% crown height and a quite normal 43% pavilion depth... minimally extra carat weight in the middle with the M-ST girdle (nice added durability). If that feather is at the surface, then might be a bit concerning, but otherwise it should be fine as a VS1 grade-setter.

@DejaWiz @Kim N

Can not thank you enough both! After a long thinking, I decided to go to 2.57 and no more upgrade what so ever ( size-wise:lol-2:).
I appriciate so much for both of you very detailed analysis.
yes, from logical and rational thinking, 2.37ct is the right choice, but like Kim says, mind clean is also important. I just can not get ride of that “line” image in my mind. My first engagement ring is SI1, and I am still very happy with it because I just can not find those inclusions. Once you see can not unseen, I guess.
Now off to design. I will update the ring when it’s done!

Awesome choice - that will be a stunning sparkler, for certain!

It's going to be beautiful, and you've really warded off DSS! :bigsmile: Can't wait to see the final ring!
