Hello all! I bought this fabulous estate emerald cab and diamond ring from Signed Pieces nearly 1 1/2 months ago. I forget what the exact carat weight of the cab is, but the measurements are 9x12mm, and there are 12 diamonds, 1ctw, rounds and asschers. The metal was described as plat but it''s a little too shiny and there isn''t a lot of weight to it. The diamonds have some crazy sparkle though, lots of fire, and I can see arrows without my loupe in one of the rounds!

The design of the ring as it is now isn''t really my taste, but I would still love to keep it as a haloed ring. I also have to consider the different shapes of the diamonds as well......

Any ideas??

Wow, that''s a reeeeeely big pic, sorry! I''m bad at posting pics. Yikes! The diamonds look dark...is that because I''m wearing a black sweatshirt?? Honestly, the diamonds are very white and fiery!

Wow...what a great find!

Because of the size of the emerald, I'd probably remount it without a halo...but I'd sure want to figure out a way to use those little asschers! (six of them?)

LOL...please don't laugh...but what about something like this? (Irina! HELP!!

Lol! Hey, your design looks better than what I've come up with. Although I love the halo look, I'm completely open to anything....maybe use everything in seperate pieces of jewelry...and yes, 6 tiny asschers! Those were a big part of my decision-making.

The main reason why I want to re-design the ring is because it's too big for any of my fingers, and the shank has been worn quite thin. I'd melt down the metal and re-use that too, whatever it is.

i would take the surrounding stones and make a separate band ring.
I would do a micro pave around the emerald cab

That way you''ve got two rings!

I like this idea, and then you will have two rings! I think halos are best when the diamond melee is tiny.

I like widget''s idea, but I''d also consider Seven''s idea - micro pave the emerald and make either one full eternity band with the diamonds, or two half eternity bands, one with asschers and one with the rounds.

Or, make a DBY style necklace with the leftover diamonds! (You probably won''t benefit from reusing the metal.)

Swooooon! So many options lol! I do like the idea of a micro pave setting....would anyone know where to look for the setting only? I know LM does amazing work but I'm going to wait until I have a spectacular stone for that. Ahhhh.....so many choices....is there a dreamy smilie?? Ok, no dreamy smilie but this one'll do:

Ooo, a DBY necklace sounds nice, a bracelet even! Who knew I could get so much out of one ring??

Ohhh, I would take those pretty little diamonds and set them in the band that will hold that gorgeous stone! And I would put 4 split prongs on the emerald

I like that wiget, then I''d have the 6 rounds go down the sides in a straight beadset line....

HI:

Wonderful piece! I''ll likely be the only person to suggest setting that cab in a plain bezel and resuing the stones elsewhere; like in an eternity ring or riveria style necklace. Oh happy plans!

cheers--Sharon
