I’m considering selling my ring in order to purchase an upgrade. I’m not sure of what the value would be in today’s market, and would truly appreciate if the experts on Pricescope could give their input. The ring consists of a 2.95 K natural pear set in platinum with baguette side stones.

I’ve never attempted to resell my jewelry before. If any you have suggestions regarding where to safely sell/consign for maximum return, I’d truly appreciate it.

Thank you all so much!

I‘ve never seen this question come up before, so I don’t know if anyone can help you with that, but wait until more experienced PSr’s post to let you know.

I'm finding retail prices anywhere between $13.5k to about $20k. You might try looking into consignment where you will probably
get a better price for it. Selling it yourself may get you 50%+ of retail. Unfortunately, although lovely, pears are not big sellers
and the combination of K/SI2 may be hard to re-home unless you price it decently.

Jewels by Grace does consignment but I've heard some not-so-positive reviews of consignment with her. You could always ask and
see what she would price it at just to get more info.

Here is her consignment page

We also have a pre-loved forum where you could list it. You have to list somewhere like loupetroop/ebay/diamond bistro
first.

Good luck!

You could start by looking up similar diamonds on vendor sites, to get a reasonable retail price range, and add on the retail price range of comparable settings. Adiamor is just one of many. Then you’d have to estimate a secondhand price from that—- I don’t know, maybe one third less?

Selling a diamond yourself is risky imo because scammers know all sorts of tricks that we don’t. And selling it on consignment takes a big chunk of your profits. You probably already know this.

When I upgraded, I decided to just keep my other diamond, for the above reasons. Good luck!

Thank you all! This is one of those diamonds that is incredibly lovely in person despite its GIA report; it is spready, faces up very white for its color, and catches the light beautifully. I get stopped and complimented on it daily. That said, I’m not in a hurry to sell, but I would love to be able to at least partially fund my new ring with my old one. I have messaged Jewels by Grace for a quote, and will possibly add a listing on PS at some point.

I truly appreciate everyone’s input, and will take what everyone has said into consideration before moving forward.
