thanks so much for oyur help.

Can you give the crown and pavilion angles you input in the cut adviser?

Also please post the star and lower facet numbers too. They are the numbers on the diamond proportion diagram, star being above the girdle, generally 50-60% and lower facet below the girdle normally 75-85%.

Can you also post the -

crown and pavilion angles and the star and lower girdle facet percentages please? But at a minimum the angles are what is needed please.

Are these both GIA graded? Also GIA's highest cut grade is Excellent, not ideal.

Thanks for the replies. I'm a novice at this and I appreciate all your expert opinions. I think I got the dimensions star and girdle right based on your descpriptions. Thanks for help.

They are actually both graded GIA excellent.

Diamond 1
Star: 61.9%
Girdle: 75%
Crown: 35%
Pavillion angle: 40.8%

Diamond 2

Star: 59.6%
Girdle: 80%
Crown Angle: 32.5%
Pavillion angle: 41%

Thanks again for your help.

You got the star wrong, that is the depth. :P

Numbers looks good, personal preference for the cut is the 1.02c. The 1.07c is cut more for light return and good spread but less fire, I just prefer a more balance stone or more fire stone.

Sorry, my mistake!

The star for diamond 1 is 55
The star for diamond 2 is 50.

Does this make a difference?

Not much, but those numbers are the norm, no surprise there.

Any chance of getting an Idealscope image for them?

No, star and LGF are not of the utmost importance, they are good to know but the overall proportions are what matters. My choice would be for the first diamond, if the diamond is online then an Idealscope image would be useful in order to check out that angle combo.

Thanks for help Lorelei and stonecold. Why do you both pick diamond 1? Does the higher carot weight not even things out?

It would be wonderful if I had idealscope image, but unfortunately nothing is available. Thanks again!

Table is too big (59%) on #2 and crown angle is off (32.5). Table should be in the 54-57% range and crown
angle should be in the 34-35% range for max brilliance. Its a hair shallow also but not sure if that would
matter too much because it is so close.

Numbers on #1 are all within range.

Higher carat weight doesnt matter if the stone is not sparkly and brilliant (IMO). .05 is not that big
of difference anyway in that size stone.
