Hi all,

Its me again, some of you might recognize me from my post seeking advice on a princess. Well anyways, slight change of plans; I now need some advice on a round brilliant.

I have roughly $2,200 to spend on a diamond and I am thinking of two scenarios:

1. ~.6 carat with ideal cut and VS2 (definetly eye clean) or greater and D-F color (essentially this option is the smaller diamond with excellent properties, know what I mean?)

2. a larger than .6 carat diamond with a lesser than ideal cut , eye clean , and D-G color (this option, is the bigger diamond, with not as excellent properties as option 1. Know what i mean?)

Anyways, You all have been ridiculously helpful so far and I appreciate all the help I can get in picking a round brilliant.

Thanks,

G

Well what kind of setting would she want if its a round? Usually easiest to get the two at the same place. Also, always sacrifice in color and clarity before cut. Cut is what makes the diamond sparkle. You don't want to sacrifice that. I'd probably go si1 I (eye clean and still near colorless ) or so to get a nice size

She's a size 7 ring finger.

It will be in a half bezel 14k white gold setting.

I'm open to the third option, thanks

Did she like that sholdt one or was that a no go?

She really liked the sholdt setting. I got some wires crossed and didnt realize that she wanted the setting custom made by one of her friends who is a jeweler.

Oh OK. So doesn't matter where we find you a stone because you'll be getting the setting local then?

Yes, that's correct. The stone can be from anywhere. Preferably with free shipping to Canada

I love there customer service here

Youd just email them for an ideal scope , about the flour, and if they offer a PS wire discount. The flour should be a problem at a medium though. They should get you an IS image within a few hours I bet

Excel can't offer a PS discount because they are not a PS vendor, just fyi. But they may offer a wire discount. Even though they are nice, I prefer buying from PS vendors when they have what I want.

Here are some E-H ideal cut options:

Make sure you allot some of your budget for the sales tax importing into Canada.
