Hi everyone,

I just found this forum and I hope some of you can help me out as I am stuck and have no idea what to do.

I live in Canada and prices of diamonds are extremely expensive up here (at least for me). I found this site genesisdiamonds.net

I found a perfect ring but I am having doubts about the diamonds. It's and EGL and by reading most of the posts here it seems like everyone does not seem to like them. A GIA ring is too expensive so I do not know what to do anymore.

Please give me your thoughts on this diamond and help me out.

Here is the link and I have attached the EGL report:

Thank you very much for any help you can offer me.

EGL is just a flat no.

You could be buying an H or you could be buying a K.

No.

Buy from the US (MANY MANY Canadian's do) where is is cheaper and have it shipped. Many of retailers like Brian Gavin diamonds, for example, or Good Old Gold are used to shipping over seas.

Buy GIA. Or AGS. ONLY.

Drop clarity to an eyeclean SI1. And you'll be fine. You can even drop color down to I-J in GIA or AGS and the stone will still be white.

You can help you find something that works for your budget and is a REAL good deal, not the false deal that EGL is.

Thank you for your reply. The ring I am interested in is the Simon G MR1811 and not many places offer these designer rings. I would really appriciate your help to find the right diamond but how do I go about getting the ring as well?

I just lowered the diamonds specs on genesis diamonds to:

Diamond Details
Carat : 1.01
Color: I
Clarity: VS2
Cut: Excellent
Depth: 59.50
Table: 60.00
Polish : Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Girdle: m-stk
Measurements: 6.49-6.55*3.88
Item#: A1ZA1309-23

Is this any better now that it is a GIA cert?

We need crown and pavillion angles. Especially the pavillion angle as the stone is a 60/60. https://www.pricescope.com/wiki/diamonds/60-60-proportioned-diamond
